The first Soul Survivor festival in January was special for many reasons; the times spent in worship expressing our devotion to God and our desire to live a life of intimacy with Him, the young people that came into a relationship with Jesus for the first time, the times of ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit. And it was special because we went and served the local community of Feilding in practical ways - we tried to be "good news".
The feedback from that afternoon was incredible, the local media covered this perculiar event of hundreds of young people serving a town that most of them didn't even live in. The feedback from those involved in the afternoon, from the young people to their youthworkers was huge. And most of all those in the town got to see a bunch of young people that love Jesus bless them with no strings attached.
The next festival seems to far away! So we had a chat to our friends in feilding and said, why dont we do it again, just for one day?
And so thats the plan, and in many ways its very simple. On the 6th of October we want to get together to worship our hearts out, to share together, to minister together, and to go and practicaly demonstrate the love of Jesus to the local community.
For far too long the world has known what we stand against, its time it knew what we stand for. Let us be people who express out devotion to God through our songs, our lives and our actions.
